18th century Italian carved giltwood mirror

Occasionally, an extremely special antique comes along.  That is this mirror.

Mid to late 18th century, this is an extremely lovely and rare early survival, with very early slightly foxed mirror plates.  Carved all around with minimal previous intervention.  The original fittings on the back add to the original charm of this piece.  

This may require some restoration including consolidation of the side flanks and sturdy fixtures for the mirror plates.  This has been treated for woodworm.
